The Lockdown has failed.
The AM13 virus is spreading out of control, and there doesn’t seem to be any way of stopping it.
The Government announces its new plan – a sanctuary in an area completely untouched by infection.
If you can get there unscathed of course…
When I read Forgotten, I didn’t realize it was the second book in a series. However, that didn’t put me off from reading the second book, and it didn’t take me long to catch up with what had happened. Told from the POV of three characters, it brings a full perspective on the story of what happens to survivors of a zombie apocalypse.
Dr. Jones is trying hard to find a vaccinefor the zombie virus, but he’s haunted by thoughts of his family. Alyssa is an intelligent, resourceful teenager who finds out the zombie apocalypse isn’t really what she’d thought it would be from watching dozens of movies on the topic. Ethan, the third POV character, suffers perhaps the most throughout the apocalypse, since he suffered from severe OCD and was now pushed into a world he was unfamiliar with.
Despite some gore, and some scary scenes, the book is mostly about survival and the psychological issues characters go through when trying to survive. I loved the characters, Ethan being my favorite. He was just so authentic. The writing was great too, and the plot fast-paced. Would recommend to all zombie fans.
