Title: Dirty Tricks (Bullies of Brentmoor Academy #1-4)

Author: Ryan Ramsay

Genre: Contemproary Romance, Reverse Harem

Read the entire series that Amazon reviewers have described as being “well written,” “very entertaining,” with “great characters,” “lots of surprises,” and steam so hot that it’s like “a bunch of chili peppers!” -From reviews by Amazon Users ILikeBooksBest, Amber Johnson and Kindle Customer.

Brentmoor Academy is where ultra-rich kids go. And now, to my surprise, it’s where I go too, thanks to surprise tuition the celebrity father I just found out I have sent me after my mother died. I thought dealing with grief was enough to nearly kill me. But now I also have to deal with the most popular and elite students who make up Brentmoor’s infamous “Council” relentlessly bullying me because they don’t think a poor girl like me belongs here, no matter who my father is.

But three of the Council guys are hot, and I swear they have a crush on me. Scruffy but studly Sebastian is a rebel from old money, nerdy-cool Braxton didn’t even need his billionaire dad to get him in because his grades were so stellar on their own, and handsome Harrison is the musical bad boy son of a rock and roll star.

These three guys might look down their noses at me, but I can’t help noticing that they’re staring at my curves while they do it. And even though they kind of take part in the cruel jokes, it seems to be in a teasing way. Or is it that they’re even trying to help me?

It’s hard to know what’s really going on since Brentmoor and its elite lifestyle are like a whole new world to me and I’m not part of these guys’ inner circle. But it starts to become abundantly clear that they want to be in my, um… inner circle… all three of them, at once, in fact.

I decide to use one of them to get back at the rest of the members of the Council, especially the mercilessly catty female students. But it’s hard to decide which one of the three guys to choose, and from the way they’re all fawning over me together, I’m starting to wonder if I even have to.

Am I doomed to live alone in the hell that is Brentmoor forever?
Or can I get revenge, pleasure and maybe even love, with 3 bad boy bullies at once?

This box set contains the complete Bullies of Brentmoor series: Dirty Deeds, Dirty Secrets, Dirty Lies and Dirty Love. Note: These books are about three damaged alpha males and the feisty, curvy female student who stands up to them until they’re all on their knees begging to please her! The set contains mature language and scenes, including high heat steam, and potential triggers related to bullying. Although there are some cliffhangers in the individual books, everything is resolved by the end of this complete series collection, for your binge-reading pleasure.

Title: Court of the Undying Seasons

Author: A.M. Strickland

Genre: Fantasy, YA, Vampires, LGTBQ

Release Date: May 16, 2023

Sarah J. Maas meets A Deadly Education in A.M. Strickland’s lush, queer YA dark fantasy novel.

In becoming a vampire, I’m less than a girl. And more.
Or maybe I’m becoming what I always have been, deep inside.
A blade.

When nineteen-year-old Fin volunteers to take her secret love’s place in their village’s Finding, she is terrified. Those who are chosen at the Finding are whisked away to Castle Courtsheart, a vampire school where human students either succeed and become vampires, fail and spend the rest of their lives as human thralls…or they don’t survive long enough to become either.

Fin is determined to forge a different path: learn how to kill the undead and get revenge for her mother, who was taken by the vampires years ago. But Courtsheart is as captivating as it is deadly, and Fin is quickly swept up in her new world and its inhabitants – particularly Gavron, her handsome and hostile vampire maker, whose blood is nothing short of intoxicating. As Fin begins to discover new aspects of her own identity and test her newfound powers, she stumbles across a string of murders that may be connected to a larger ritual – one with potentially lethal consequences for vampires and humans alike. Fin must uncover the truth and find the killer before she loses her life…or betrays her own heart.

Court of the Undying Seasons is a deliciously dark romantic novel and a pitch perfect modern take on classic vampire tropes.

“With brutal romance, vicious stakes, and a twisty mystery, Court of The Undying Seasons takes everything we love about vampires and cranks it to a whole new level.” —Hannah Whitten, author of For the Wolf and For the Throne.

Since today is Valentine’s Day, I wanted to choose a romantic teaser for the occassion. Don’t judge a book by its cover or title for this one, by the way. From the book cover, I thought this would be horror, but it’s paranormal romance. And I figured it would have something to do with ghosts, but that’s not the case either.

Anyway, here is the teaser:

“Are you that stubborn, you’d risk someone else’s life to argue instead?” That came out more as a whisper because something was compelling me to get closer to her.

More than anything, I wanted to kiss her stubborn mouth stupid.

Title: A House with Good Bones

Author: T. Kingfisher

Genre: Horror, Gothic, Fantasy

Release Date: March 28, 2023

A haunting Southern Gothic from an award-winning master of suspense, A House With Good Bones explores the dark, twisted roots lurking just beneath the veneer of a perfect home and family.

“Mom seems off.”

Her brother’s words echo in Sam Montgomery’s ear as she turns onto the quiet North Carolina street where their mother lives alone.

She brushes the thought away as she climbs the front steps. Sam’s excited for this rare extended visit, and looking forward to nights with just the two of them, drinking boxed wine, watching murder mystery shows, and guessing who the killer is long before the characters figure it out.

But stepping inside, she quickly realizes home isn’t what it used to be. Gone is the warm, cluttered charm her mom is known for; now the walls are painted a sterile white. Her mom jumps at the smallest noises and looks over her shoulder even when she’s the only person in the room. And when Sam steps out back to clear her head, she finds a jar of teeth hidden beneath the magazine-worthy rose bushes, and vultures are circling the garden from above.

To find out what’s got her mom so frightened in her own home, Sam will go digging for the truth. But some secrets are better left buried.

What I’m Watching

I’m watching Lockwood & Co. Absolutely loving it so far! I read the books a few years ago and devoured them from start to finish, so I was thrilled about the TV series but I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Netflix often is a hit or miss, but for me, so far, this is a definite hit!

What I’m Crafting

Before my baby, Seraphyn (who is now four months old….time flies!) was born, I had bought a kit to craft a nightlight featuring the Disney Princess Cinderella with string art as decoration. The kit is supposedly for kids but either I’m a complete idiot, but this was a lot tougher than it seemed to be. The instructions were also really unclear. Quite frankly, I don’t recommend it for kids at all. Even for adults, it’s a struggle.

Luckily, I didn’t pay that much for it – like 1 EUR or something. But online, you can purchase it as well and it’s a lot more expensive, about 15 EUR. I definitely don’t recommend doing that. The material is cheap, you don’t even get a nice frame for around it, and it just isn’t worth that price. I’m not even sure I’ll display it in Seraphyn’s room (like I initially intended when buying it) although for the amoutn of work I’ve had trying to piece it together, I might as well…

You can read a more detailed post about this kit on my author blog.

What I’m Writing

This week I didn’t write anything because I’ve been too focused on my new release. Yaaaaaay!

The updated, much longer (600 plus pages in paperback…yikes) version of See All Evil is now available on Amazon!

Title: See All Evil (Academy for the Wicked #1)

Genre: New Adult, Reverse Harem, Paranormal Romance

Purchase: Amazon

On my eighteenth birthday, my demon-possessed mother told me I was invited to join the Academy for the Wicked.

Hours later, the diner I worked at was overrun by creatures that shouldn’t exist. Alec, a warlock, who appeared out of thin air and made a glass levitate – which is probably the least of his powers. A demon named Christian, the culprit behind my mother’s zombie-like episode this morning. Damian, a vampire who promptly killed my manager; Tristan, a fearsome necromancer; and the most mysterious one of them all, a mesmer called Ronan.

All of them swore they would protect me from the nightmare that has haunted me for years: the red room, the throne of blood, the Queen of Maggots, especially now the Queen of Maggots is no longer confined to the world of dreams…

With five gorgeous guys eager to protect me, I should feel safe, but the Academy is a deadly trap. The teachers and students are all keeping secrets, and I’m not sure if I belong here.

To survive my first semester at the Academy of the Wicked, I will need to figure out who and what I truly am, and why the Queen of Maggots wants me dead…

What I’m Playing

No board games this week, but I’m playing the Sims 4 again, thanks to this nifty new expansion (well, new… it’s been out for a few months, but thanks to the birth of my sweet baby girl, Seraphyn, I didn’t really have time to play videogames anymore).

This expansion is perfect for the Sims 4 story I started writing last year (and then put on a hiatus after episode 18… but I’m working on reviving it): Josie, The Vampire Slayer. Since a lot of scenes from this story take place in high school, during school hours, I had to use Mods and what-not to take suitable pictures, but with this new expansion, I don’t need to do all that anymore, which makes it soooo much easier.

What have you been up to this week?
