Teaser Tuesdays (5)

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

He let go of her wrist, and Luce thought he was reaching toward her, to stroke the stinging side of her face. For a second, she hung there, holding her breath. Then her chest collapsed when Daniel’s hand swept back to brush his own hair from his eyes.

That was when Luce rezliaed Daniel was making fun of her.

Isolde’s gaze bounced back and forth between the painting and the green glass. There was something on her painting. She leaned forward for a closer look, then gasped.

A fingerprint.

She backed away from the nightstand towards the door. Someone had been in her room, carelessly handling her painting, possibly while she had been sleeping on the mattress just a few feet away. Her heart hammered in her chest. Someone. A ghost? Was that the presence, the sadness she felt in this room?

I read Fallen last year, but haven’t gotten around to reading Torment. The covers are so, so gorgeous, though. I really love them.

Have you read Unearthly by Cynthia Hand yet? I reviewed an ARC of the book last month and fell in love with it. It’s so wonderfully written with amazing character development. I don’t know if I can read another angel book again, I love this one so much! If you like angel books, definitely check it out. 🙂
