Teaser Tuesdays (4)

Teaser-Tuesdays
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Teasers: Evangeline

Evangeline peered around the hay bale and studied her admirer. An older man—clearly someone closer to her mother’s age—he wore a straw hat that covered his gray-flecked head. As she gazed at him, she recalled the way his large blue eyes had fixed on her with a steadfast earnestness as she strolled between the stalls. A tiny flush of pleasure darted into her consciousness. Despite the surprise of the moment, despite his so-obvious regard, she did appreciate the fact that someone admired her. At least there was one man in this entire village who admired her.
