It’s up to him to stop the assassination of the King of Morocco and stop chaos in the Middle East.

Arik Bar Nathan is head of the Israeli National Security Council. He has a direct contact with the Prime Minister. Due to the sudden death of the Prime Minister, Arik’s entire life is about to change.

The new Prime Minister seeks a better public opinion of him and demands that Arik serve this need to build a political image as Mr. Security, revealing secrets and showing off the success of military operations. Arik, an honest professional is not willing to take part in any of these fraudulent activities. The PM decides to end Arik’s duty and dismisses him, as well as the head of Mossad, from their positions.

The new head of the Mossad is a cunning character whose ties to the new Prime Minister are anything but professional.

It doesn’t take long for the new head of the Mossad to ask Arik for assistance. The Israeli Intelligence Agency has received information about Al-Qaeda operatives planning to assassin the King of Morocco during the Inauguration event of the big mosque in Casablanca.

Arik is the only one person who can put an end to this plot and is asked to use his abilities and contacts, to assist in this underground mission In Morocco, and save the King together with the French DGSE secret service.

If the King of Morocco is assassinated, there will be chaos in the Middle East and thousands of lives will be lost. Arik and his commando team must get to him first!

Where Shadows Meet is a tapestry of intrigue, wit, drama and dare that enthralls the reader from start to finish. A brilliant espionage thriller that will leave you breathless. It is the remarkable story of those who live in the shadows, working under false identities and behind masks, addicted to adrenaline and control. An intricate tale of passion and danger.

Nathan Ronen’s history with Israeli national security easily conjures the stories of extraordinary people, dedicating their lives to ensuring public security while paying a costly personal price. These people live in the shadows, functioning behind masks and borrowed time, and like many of us, remain terrified of loneliness.

In Where Shadows Meet, Arik Bar Nathan has worked as the head of the Israeli National Security Council under the previous Prime Minister, but after the sudden death of the latter, a new Prime Minister is elected who demands Arik helps him craft a better public and political image.

Arik refuses to take part in any unsavory activities, and is promptly dismissed. However, Arik is soon asked for assistance by the Israeli Intelligence Agency regarding Al-Qaeda operatives planning to assassinate the Kin of Morrocco. Arik is the only person who can put an end to this evil scheme, but he will have to risk his own life to do so.

Action, espionage, this book feels like watching a movie, and a pretty good one at that. The dialogue is fast, the scenes are action-packed, the pacing is tight, and overall, this is an excellent read!

Book Review My Name is Nelson

Title: My Name is Nelson

Genre: Thriller
Rating: 4,5 stars

Review copy provided by Enchanted Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

President Andrew MacIntyre was having a pretty good first year in the Oval Office.  Suddenly, during what should have been a peaceful Christmas season, he’s facing one of the worst national security crises in American history.  And it’s being masterminded out of a sleazy, New Mexico strip joint?  What the hell?

Is this a political thriller?  Or is it science fiction?  A zany comedy?  Perhaps it’s a love story.  Whatever it is, it’s a riveting page-turner with a little sex appeal, and a lot of laughs.  If “Doctor Strangelove” can find the humor in nuclear war, then surely there’s a little bit of laughter lurking in unmanned aviation, as well as some serious, heartfelt moments.

It’s little wonder White House National Security Advisor Chet Addington* said this was, “Pretty much the best novel ever.”**

* Absolutely, positively, not a real person
** He’s been known to be wrong about stuff

“My Name is Nelson” is a mix of sci-fi, thriller and adventure, all mixed into one.

Nelson Troutman is a brilliant scientist. Yet, being bullied as a child, and now being considered “different” by everyone in his life, has sent him over the edge. Determined to get some payback, he leaves his job and sets up shop in his favorite strip club. There, he works on his master plan to create the ultimate weapon of mass destruction, all the while enjoying the company of Tiffany Golden, his almost-sort-of girlfriend.

Nelson is determined to get his revenge on all the bullies in the world, and does so in a brilliant clash of genres that leaves the reader at the edge of their seat. Despite Nelson’s tendencies for vengeance, he is an intriguing character that leaves a lasting impression on the reader.

Fast-paced and suspenseful, “My Name is Nelson” reads like an action movie.

Be part of a fascinating flight into the Amazon jungles!

This is a book about love, memory, yearning, and shared human destiny. An Israeli anthropologist flees his country and the bitter memories that haunt him, finding refuge in the Amazon jungles. The protagonist’s death wish opens hidden paths before him, and these lead him into the heart of the forest.

Encounter the mysteries of the enchanted, magical forest along with our hero

Xnen, the tribal leader, and Yakura, the embodiment of the forest goddess, draw him into the life of the tribe as he gradually becomes trapped in their magical world. Behind each tree, beyond every pathway that disappears into the forest, inside each sacred cave, and at the end of each night, there are mysteries he must solve, traces of magnificent lost civilizations swallowed by the forest, riddles, and prophecies.

Will he be able to unravel the mysteries of the forest and of his own existence?

When he tries to escape from this maze of secrets, he discovers he has a crucial role to play in the war between the children of the forest and the hostile, seemingly rational civilization surrounding it. He knows that only by fully dedicating himself to the conflict will he be able to solve the mysteries of the forest as well as the mystery of his own life.

In When Time is Cracked and the Trees Cry, author Nahum Megged takes the readers on a strange, almost otherwordly tour through the Amazon jungle. Our main character is an anthropologist who has fled his own country and now tries to find refuge with a native tribe in the Amazon jungles.

Xnen is the leader of said tribe, and he introduces the protagonist to the mysteries of the forest, of life with the tribe, of the many mysteries that surround it. When trying to uncover these mysteries, and also, the mysteries of his own existence, our protagonist will learn a lot more about himself and his own life than he ever thought possible.

This is an engaging, mysterious story that eludes both the protagonist and reader, and forces one to keep turning the pages.

About the Book

Title: In The Prison of Our Grief

Author: S.E. Amadis

Genre: Action Thriller

A harsh prison in England.

The grisly, tragic murder of three babies.

The murderess is on the loose… And Carrie Anne’s made friends with her.

Will she be able to find out the truth in time? Or will she become this sadistic murderess’ next victim?

Once again, Carrie Anne finds herself in the centre of another terrifying ordeal…

In this exciting sequel to Patricia, we follow seventeen-year-old Carrie Anne Houghton and her new comrades-in-arms in a whirling, dizzying, action-packed adventure that spans two continents, from the glitzy high-rises of New York City to the lonely expanses of rural Canada to the glamour and colour of Mediterranean tourist resorts.

Persecution, murder, lies and deceit. Traps, stormy Gothic settings, abandoned mansions and secret passageways. All of this comes to vivid life in the pages of In the Prison of our Grief.

A gripping, fast-paced, action-packed thriller featuring a strong female protagonist and a quirky male counterpart. This book can be read as a standalone.

Author Bio

I could never write about a happy, conventional couple living in a happy, conventional, suburban neighbourhood with two cars and one and a half children, a dog and a pet bird, working at happy, conventional, uneventful jobs.

My heroes and heroines have to walk through fire (or rather, crawl through fire), get strangled, beaten, shot at, drowned, poisoned, get caught in tornados or earthquakes or get attacked by mutant gnats. Or, they have to strangle, beat, shoot, drown and poison other people.

A story with anything less than these dramatic, hair-raising elements was always too boring for me to even consider telling.

I believe in magic. I believe that the world is full of mystery, and that there are more things in heaven and earth than could ever be dreamt of in our conventional, logic-based philosophies.

Outside of that, as a dry, mundane list of facts about me, I’m a single parent from a village near Montreal, Canada, who now enjoys the freaking great good fortune to live happily with my two sons on the almost-tropical south coast of Spain, basking in summer eight months of the year. Typical activities include running a marathon with the kids to school every morning and cooking frequently for an Always Hungry teenaged son with four stomachs.

Welcome to Monsterland – the scariest place on Earth. All guests can interact with real vampires in Vampire Village, be chased by an actual werewolf on the River Run, and walk among the dead in Zombieville. Wyatt Baldwin, a high school student and life-long movie buff is staring bleakly at a future of flipping burgers. Due to a fortuitous circumstance, Wyatt and his friends are invited to the star-studded opening of Monsterland. In a theme park full of real vampires, werewolves and zombies, what could possibly go wrong?

Monsterland is a theme park filled with monsters – any monster lover’s dream come through. Zombies, vampires, werewolves, you name it, and the park has them. Wyatt Baldwin, high school student, movie buff and monster fan never expected to get invited to the grand opening of Monsterland. But then luck (or destiny, depending on how you look at it) intervenes and they get to visit Monsterland on the grand opening. What could possibly go wrong?

Monsterland focuses on monsters and families, and it basically reads like Jurassic Park, but with monsters. Of course you know something will go wrong the moment Wyatt steps through those doors, but still, it’s an engaging, surprising read. Wyatt and his brother have a new stepdad, so the family dynamics are slightly troublesome. They’re trying to make it work, which is admirable. The family dynamics play an important part of the book, and help sketch the personality of our main character.

The book is filled with adventure, fast-paced escapes, and great writing. A perfect read for horror fans – I didn’t find it that scary, but it was very entertaining nonetheless.

No Quarter: Dominium – The Complete Series and No Quarter: Wenches – Volume 1

No Quarter: Dominium – Volume 1, is the first book in a six-part series that starts in 1689, in Port Royal, Jamaica. I love pirates (just about the biggest Pirates of the Caribbean fan ever here, I can even quote entire lines from the movies) and since it mentioned pirates and based on the blurb, sounded like it would be a fast-paced damsel in distress type of story, I couldn’t wait to read it. Needless to say based on my four star rating, I certainly wasn’t dissapointed.

Atia and her sister Livia are sold into slavery, and seperated. Atia is liberated thanks to sugar merchant Capitaine la Roche, who has a bloody past that keeps catching up with him. La Roche has a colorful army of cohorts and friends, and they all bring an unique aspect to the table, and add a lot of depth and realism to the book. When there’s a sclart fever outbreak, Atia and La Roche must run to keep themselves safe.

The past plays a large part in the book, as it keeps catching up to people – not just La Roche, but also Atia, her father, and just about everyone else.

The writing is excellent, and I felt drawn into the story almost right away. I look forward to reading the second book in the series; I’ll definitely check it out when I have some time.

Starting in the 1970s, an adventure which follows the trials and tribulations of a young guy trying to make an improvement in his nation’s agricultural and industrial initiatives. He finds that good things can happen from bad, and bad things can happen from good. The story contains an underlying indigenous theme.

Unbelievable follows Kevin, or Kev, a young guy who wants to make a change and improve his nation’s agricultural and industrial initiative. Unfortunately life doesn’t always go as planned, and Kev often finds himself lured into bad situations, like getting involved with drugs and the drug trade selling a drug named “Ambrosia”. I don’t want to spoil the book, but a large part of it is about bad choices and learning from one’s mistakes.

Kev is a bit of an ambiguous character – while he tries to do good, he often does the wrong thing. It took a few chapters for me to start liking him, but once I did, I really enjoyed his story and the trials he went through.
