Guest Post

Dear Fans,
First of all, let me thank you for reading my stories. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy writing them.  Taking the first step to purchase and then invest your time in one of my novels is humbling.  I am truly grateful.
One of the questions which always seems to rise for fans after theyve read one of the Nick Sibelius novels is where do I find these quirky characters?  Other than being dropped on my head as a child and drinking too much beer in college, I have no defense.
All of them have some grounding in life, just with the intensity turned up. For example, Ive met Charity (Dirty Water), my terrorist ecologically-minded cycling fanatic who only kills carbon spewers. At least Ive met the ecologically-minded cycling fanatic.  Having her kill over carbon dioxide waste just takes the ideology to its extreme.  Junior (Toxic Relationship) is the kind of guy who would stop to help you change a flat tire. However, for Junior, every act of good intention seems to go terribly wrong.  Before you know it, he would have accidentally kicked the car jack out, dropping a three thousand pound car on you. By the way, hes really sorry he killed youit all happened, just by accident.  And Bobbi Shank (Chain Reaction), angry and damaged by an abusive band director/father who died before she could get her revenge, plays out her angst by killing random band directors across Texas with various musical instruments.
I think what binds all of these characters together is a kernel of good within each. The wrong or damage they received in life twisted that good intent into something bad. I imagine were all a little like them. Hopefully not terrorists, murderers or serial killers, but we mean well as we go about our day and every so often, something comes along that hooks into some hurt in our past. Some of us manage not to act out on our feelings, but a few of us do. A nasty email, a gesture out the car window, a comment behind someones back. And even if we dont act on it, we still think about what wed do, which is why those quirky characters connect. We may not approve of murder, but we sure do understand the motivation.
Enjoy all three books and feel free to be in touch. I always love to hear from my fans.
