Witches and science-fiction? Definitely count me in. That’s the main reason why I wanted to review Earth Cell, and I loved it from start to end.

The league of Cells and the Witches Guild have worked together to maintain order and stability across the countless worlds of the overweb. The world-building is extremely impressive, and it’s the part of the book that I enjoyed the most. Maels Rapotri, our main character, struggles to fulfill his dream of serving as a warden. When Earth Cell is threatened, Maels must face the ultimate test, and he may discovers that even all those years of training might not have been enough.

Maels is an intriguing character. He has flaws, he’s struggling, he’s interesting. But like I mentioned, it’s the word building that truly impressed me. There are new, different races, new rules, even a new language. Obviously a lot of thought went into creating the world of “Earth Cell”, and it shows.

The writing was solid too, and I can’t wait for the second book in the Ux-Blood Trilogy. Meanwhlie, if you’re looking for a captivating and refreshing science fiction novel, then try this one.
