Beyond 50 Shades … Way Beyond!

FIRST EXPERIENCE is an intimate exploration of kinks and fetishes by an unlikely couple, with thoughtful and philosophical discussion by the characters, and graphic descriptions of their erotic adventures.

Sam meets Kelly, a beautiful but troubled woman half his age, leading to a ‘first experience’ exploring the surreal world their fantasies.  Sam realizes that he desires more than a play partner.  And Kelly knows that she needs more than a lover:  Someone to whom she can expose her inner soul; someone whose values transcend the ordinary; someone who will fulfill her own dark fantasy world.

The Experiences series is an epic love story of erotic relationships and sexual desires. Written in a ‘literary realism’ style, the series introduces Sam in the prequel, and the blossoming of his intimate relationship with Kelly as the series progresses. Fantasies and real-world adventures coalesce to mold a unique bond between unlikely lovers. Where needs are mutually satisfied in an open, creative and trusting environment. Where physical and mental boundaries are pushed. Where the concepts of love and sex are never confused, but sometimes confusing. Where openness is required and intimacy is expected. And where fair-is-fair, regarding the punishment of transgressions.

Contemporary erotic romance: Suitable for mature readers, aged 18+ years.

Experiences:  Book 2 is 111,000 word, 17 chapters, 374 print pages

WARNING!

This work contains mature content, including graphic sexual descriptions and scenes, and is provided for adults only. The Experiences series contains scenes of psychological and physical submission, discipline, and medical fetish.  The characters explore various fetishes, which evolve throughout the series.  ALL CHARACTERS IN THE BOOK ARE 21 YEARS OLD OR OLDER, and all activities are consensual.

First Experience offers an interesting look in the world of BDSM, with the focus being on openness, trust and honesty, even more than it is on sex and arousal. The book follows Sam, a man in his fifties who is attracted to younger woman and to making them submit. He’s not a sadist, at least he doesn’t see himself as one. It’s not hurting others that he enjoys, it’s having others submit to them, having them do things they don’t want to do, but that they do anyway, to please him.

It’s explained quite well and the book, almost as if Sam is rationalizing what he does and feels. It gives an interesting insight in his personality, and makes it easier for the reader to connect with him. He goes to a casual dinner party at the house of one of his friends, where he meets Kelly, an attractive young woman who is confident and open, and who might just be the woman he was looking for. They agree to meet on a rather casual date, but then once they’re on the date, Sam starts talking about his fantasies, and realizes Kelly has quite a few fantasies of her own.

Now this part of the book was the only one I had some trouble connecting with, because it seemed a bit random. With that, I mean that going out to talk about a serious topics (Kelly’s PH.D) with an older man, and he immediately starts talking about sexual fantasies…I felt like this scene needed maybe slightly more build up, it felt a little awkward. It doesn’t creep Kelly out though, which is a little odd considering she doesn’t know Sam all that well. Having sexual fantasies is great, but talking about them right away… I understand the focus was on the “First Experience”, which happens later on, but I still felt like this should’ve been fleshed out a bit more.

Finding they have some fantasies in common, Sam and Kelly decide to play out their fantasies, in particular Sam’s. His fantasies involve spanking and medical exams. When Kelly arrives at his house for her “First Experience”, she’ll get a level-100 punishment, which is definitely creative. I won’t tell you everything that happens, because I don’t want to spoil it for you, but let’s say the book is 375 pages long, and over 300 of those pages take place on that day, so Kelly doesn’t get off the hook lightly.

The characters are well-developed. We get more insight in Sam’s mind than in Kelly’s, since he’s the narrator, and sometimes I missed having Kelly’s perspective. Hopefully we’ll get more of that in the second book. The book focuses heavily on openness, honesty and trust, and Sam gives detailed explanations to Kelly about his actions, while he’ll do something and what he’ll do.

It’s an interesting book, entertaining and engaging too, and the talk about trust and honesty worked well. I look forward to the sequel.
