It’s all connected to her date’s unfortunate demise, or is there more to it than meets the eye?

In Dead and Kicking, we meet with ‘Harry’ Russo, our main character who is a witch with an extraordinary gift. When her grandmother sets her up on a blind date, the date goes sideways and she ends up face to face with a corpse and a spirit focused on letting her solve his murder.

This brings Harry square in the middle of mayhem: she has to deal with a sexy homicide detective, a wicked but powerful vampire, and zombies. Is it all connected to the murder, or is something else going on?

All the characters are fleshed out, especially Harry and Nash (the homicide detective), but the secondary cast too. The plot is fast-paced and never slowed down; there was always something happening and I just couldn’t stop reading. Harry was simply amazing. She had all the right ingredients for a protagonist, intelligent, clever and determined, and funny too.

If you enjoy urban fantasy, I highly recommend this book.
